Blue Skies, Green Grass, and All Your Favorite Things.
The new Penn’s Landing Park (due for completion in 2028) is an 11.5-acre park and civic space that will connect the city of Philadelphia to the waterfront. It will transform a brutalist concrete sprawl into rolling green space with something for everyone and then some. A project this momentous for the city needed a brand identity and wayfinding system to match. We needed to invite people from every neighborhood far and wide and help them get where they needed to go once they arrived. It needed to express itself as a welcoming and magical place to explore while seamlessly blending into the thoughtful park architecture and grounds.
City, Meet Water. Water, Meet City.
The Delaware River has long been inaccessible to the people of Philadelphia. The new park and the new mark seek to change that, with a new brand that symbolizes the city streets meeting the water’s edge.
Fun This Way
Clear wayfinding is crucial for the new Penn’s Landing Park, ensuring that locals and tourists alike can easily navigate the multifaceted space. With its diverse attractions, from recreational areas and cultural sites to dining and entertainment options, intuitive signage is essential for enhancing the visitor experience. By helping guests move seamlessly through the park, clear wayfinding supports a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Color. Full.
The fresh, colorful brand visually represents vibrancy, diversity, and inclusivity. Bright, engaging colors attract a wide audience and create an inviting atmosphere that appeals to all ages and backgrounds. This visual identity reinforces the park’s mission to be a dynamic, welcoming space for the entire community.
Under Construction
As the park is currently still under construction, a new, vibrant brand supports its communication needs by creating a strong and positive visual identity that keeps the community engaged and excited about the project. The vibrant brand helps convey the park’s future as a lively and inclusive space, fostering anticipation and a sense of ownership.
